I have been caring for animals for over twenty-five years. I have a formal education in Animal Husbandry and Biology. In 1979, I was a cruelty agent for the Humane Society of Greater Miami. I learned about medicine and disease as a veterinary technician at South Dade Animal Hospital and the South Miami Emergency Clinic. In 1985, I took the position of Curator of Natural Sciences at the Museum of Science and History (MOSH) in Jacksonville, Florida. There, I studied the behavior of a variety of reptiles, birds, and mammals and their relationships to the environment.

In 1990, I began grooming dogs and become a National Certified Master Groomer (NCMG) in 1992. I had the opportunity to learn and work with the industry's top professionals and was awarded the title of "Best in Show" at my first grooming competition in 1995. I ran a successful pet sitting and grooming service called New River Pet Sitting Inc. from 1993 to 2006. During that time, I became a Certified Trainer (CT) and relocated to Riverhead, New York. I had spent my first twenty-five years on Long Island, so the transition was easy, and I love being back home!

My latest project is a certification in Naturopathy. I am always looking for ways to improve my business and advance my education. This is a perfect way to accomplish both intentions. It is the latest in spa treatments, including diet changes, sound and light therapy, homeopathy, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). This is a study of the energy meridians that combines the science of acupressure and the energy of Reiki. It works to unblock energy and enhance total well-being.
